Not rare but noteworthy...

The habitat created by the 2010 tornado that tore through Oak Openings Preserve Metropark is probably more productive than anywhere else in Ohio for Red-headed woodpeckers. This morning I covered the whole length of the tornado’s path through the park and counted what easily is the most I’ve ever seen in a day...53!
