A single Cackling goose was with a few hundred Canadas below the dam at Mary Jane Thurston SP (Wood Co.) February 3. Numbers of gulls along the river have been reduced to fewer than 100 at the sites I checked.

This bird or possibly another was present around 1 pm today (thurs.) at this same area.  I was trying to get closer for another shot and spooked all birds...while they were flying I thought I saw 2 very small geese in the air... I actually initially thought they were Mallards, so I think there is likely 2 birds present.
